Pole Dancing to feature in the Olympics?

Many people are not aware that Pole Dancing is a competitive sport and a performance art. In 2017, Pole Dancing was granted ‘observer status” by the Global Association of International Sports Federations. This means that the sport has moved one step closer towards being recognised as an Olympic sport.

Modern-day pole dancing is no longer a dance activity seen in seedy bars or night spots. Today, pole dancing is conducted as a class in community clubs and studios. It is slowly shaking off its shady reputation to evolve into a sport that is based on strength and agility.
